Report Links $2.08M in LAPTOP Sales to Wintermute-Tagged Wallet
Markets
Onchain analyst Lookonchain reported that an address tagged by Arkham as Wintermute sold 466,255 LAPTOP for about $2.08 million after receiving tokens traced to the project team. For LAPTOP holders, the report identified project-allocated inventory moving out of a Wintermute-tagged wallet on the token’s launch day.
Lookonchain said the address received part of a 2.5 million-token allocation from the Laptop Token team and sold 466,255 tokens at an average price of $4.47. Arkham applies its Wintermute entity label to the address cited by Lookonchain, 0x4B3F…1f2a.
Separately, trader Jaider Hurtado documented LAPTOP’s opening market as thin. He said Aerodrome and Uniswap pools “opened nearly empty” and recorded a displayed price falling from $316.75 at 12:03 UTC to about $6 at 12:40 UTC, a decline of roughly 98%.
Allocation Reached a Wintermute-Tagged Address
The underlying relationship between Wintermute and the project was not disclosed in the retained sources. Lookonchain’s tracing supports the reported team origin and aggregate sales figures, while Arkham supports only the wallet attribution. Neither source establishes whether the address was trading for Wintermute’s own account, operating under a market-making agreement or executing for another party.
The two observations also do not establish that the reported sales went through the Aerodrome or Uniswap pools described by Hurtado. His post nevertheless illustrates the launch conditions facing buyers: he reported about $10 million of first-hour volume despite the pools beginning with little liquidity.
The tagged wallet retained a material balance after the reported sales. Arkham displayed 200,745 LAPTOP at the address, while BaseScan showed 200,744.99999998 LAPTOP at the same wallet.
